With summer here and our stages given over to Antony and the Johnsons and the Bolshoi Ballet, it's a chance for us at the Royal Opera House to reflect on a busy Season that's seen more than 300 performances of over 60 productions across our stages.

Alongside the truly amazing contributions on stage from the artists of The Royal Opera and Royal Ballet we’ve seen great involvement on the part of our audience via our website's News and features section as well as social media platforms. The 2012/13 Season saw unprecedented levels of engagement, not least through our Your Reaction blog posts for all Main Stage productions, debates and live-tweets - including Royal Opera LIVE and BP Big Screens. Thousands of you from across the world have interacted, contributed and critiqued. We’re listening to your views and doing our best to open up the ROH and the art forms that we work with every day.

We've also seen some brilliant examples of passionate audiences fully engaged with our art forms, including a recent letter to the BBC in protest of the angle taken by the broadcaster against opera on their Hardtalk current affairs programme (at the time of writing this has been read by 77,000 people).

Do please continue your involvement and get involved, not just on behalf of the Royal Opera House, but on behalf of the wider arts sector as there's a continuing case to be made for the artforms we present.

This season we saw:

  • 40.4 years worth of video watched via our YouTube channel
  • 6 million website visits
  • 2.6 million page views on our News and Features section.
  • 502,000 followers, fans and subscribers across our social networks
  • 468 website news articles, features, and reaction round-ups.

We'd like to thank you for your involvement this Season and hope to hear from even more of you in 2013/14. Until then, there's still time to give your reaction to what you saw this Season, as well as follow us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Google+, Pinterest and Soundcloud.
